We are the local chapter of the national SAMPE technical society promoting further technical interchange and development in the research, processing and application of all advanced materials.

The Society for the Advancement of Material and Process Engineering, SAMPE®, an international professional member society, provides information on new materials and processing technologies through chapter technical presentations, journal publications, symposia and commercial expositions in which professionals can exchange ideas and express their views. As the only technical society encompassing all fields of endeavor in materials and processes, SAMPE provides a unique and valuable forum for scientists, engineers, designers and academicians.

Material and process engineering is the technology by which materials are developed or selected, and the manufacturing processes which will convert those materials into products are characterized, in order to determine the performance, producibility, quality, and cost effective criteria are met for a given application.

CHAPTER MEETINGS

Regular meetings are currently on hold, but plan to be resumed regularly. Stay tuned for updates and for any special events!

Each meeting may include a technical speaker presenting a topic related to some aspect of materials & processing, with an occasional diversion to a more entertaining topic. Before and after the technical presentation, there is always ample opportunity to network with other technical professionals as well as enjoy a dinner. Please consider joining us for a chance to learn about recent technical developments in the materials field, network with friends, and have a little fun!
